(NIDAHASA News) The Buddhist monks` conference for strengthening of democracy and good governance has been indefinitely postponed, chief monks of the three chapters said in a statement.
The conference was scheduled to be held on held 18th February in Kandy to discuss the current situation in the country including alleged poll rigging and arresting of opposition candidate.
"We decided to postpone the conference after considering the current situation of the country, security of the public and the honor of Temple of Tooth", the statement says. However only two out four monks has been signed to the statement.
