(NIDAHASA News) Chief monks of the three Chapters have decided to hold a Assembly to quell the chaotic situation developing in the country and strengthen democracy and establish good governance, they said in an letter sent to all temples of the island.

As Buddhist monks they could not be silent amidst chaos regarding democracy and good governance that has developed in the country, the latter says.

Letter has been signed by Mahanayake of Malwatta Chapter Most Ven Thibbotuwawe Sri Sumangala Thera, Mahanayake of Asgiriya Chapter Most Ven. Udugama Sri Buddharakkhita Thera, Mahanayake of Amarapura Chapter Most Ven. Dawuldeniye Gnanissara Thera and Mahanayake of Ramagnna Chapter Most Ven. Weveldeniye Medhalankara Thera.
