Sri Lanka Gov. Claims Conspiracy Charges Against Sarath Fonseka

Second Edition(NIDAHASA News) General Sarath Fonseka will be Court Marshaled for the military crimes he has committed, Media Center for National Security says.
Former army chief and defeated presidential candidate Sarath Fonseka was taken into custody by troops who stormed the main opposition political office today (08) evening.
According to reports Fonseka was having a discussion with several opposition party leaders at the moment.
Director General of the Media Center for National Security Lakshman Hullugala said that Fonseka was arrested for discussing with certain sections of the Opposition, conspiring to topple the government and also for creating divisions within the Sri Lanka Army while he was its Commander and also when he was the Chief of Defense Staff.
“I am not going to save anyone who has committed war crimes”. Fonseka told earlier claiming that he is prepared to give evidence in an international court on war crime charges against Sri Lanka. “Those who reveal the truth are not traitors,” he added.
Meanwhile In an interview with BBC few days ago, Sri Lanka defense secretary Gotabaya Rajapaska claimed to take action against Former army Chief.
"He accused me of saying that I gave wrong orders. It came out in the newspapers. So taking action later on we will follow the procedures." Rajapaska told BBC.
Fonseka contested for the presidential election held on January the the common candidate of opposition and defeated by incumbent President Mahinda Rajapaksa. But Fonseka rejected the results and vowed to challenge them in court.
