Presidential Candidate General Sarath Fonseka
(NIDAHASA News) Former Common opposition Presidential Candidate General Sarath Fonseka says that he do not accept the final result of the presidential election.

Fonseka sent a letter to the Elections Commissioner this morning alleging malpractices at the Presidential elections.

"Basil Rajapaksa, MP and the brother of president has been entered into the election commissioners office by force on 27th January early morning" the letter claims.

"Fake result sheets which were given by Basil Rajapaksa have been announced by the commissioner as election results." it says further.

The letter also highlights the issues regarding the discovery of burnt polling cards.

Meanwhile Elections Commissioner Dayananda Dissanayaka says that he will continue in service and not resign as earlier planned.

The Commissioner also said that he will investigate UNP claims that some 64 ballot papers marked in favor of the opposition candidate were found dumped in Anuradhapura and appropriate action if the allegations are true. However he rejected claims the election was rigged.
