"Lanka" is highly critical towards the government.
(NIDAHASA News) Printing and publishing of "Lanka" Sinhala newspaper has been temporarily banned under a court order issued by Nugegoda magistrate.

According to the court order, the newspaper was banded considering the claims made by Criminal Investigation Division alleging that the newspaper is exposing facts regarding investigations against terrorist organizations and could be harmful for the state security.

Court order ruled out further printing and publishing of the newspaper without court permission.

Chandana Sirimalwatte, the editor of the newspaper has been arrested few days back and the office was raided by CID. "Lanka" is a popular pro opposition newspaper in Sri Lanka which is highly critical towards the government.
