Popular Sri Lankan Station Sirasa TV Threatened over Fonseka Video Tape

(NIDAHASA News) The Sirasa Media Network (MTV/ MBC) is under threat of a senior official of the government, reports say. According to reports the senior official has demanded the video tape of the scenes taken when Gen. Sarath Fonseka was leaving Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel.
None of local media reporters were allowed to cover the event other than Sirasa TV.
The official has demanded the video tape claiming that the broadcast license of the station, if they failed to handover the tape. However the station has refused to hand over the tape, reports say.
The broadcast license of the station could be canceled at any moment by taking advantage of any slight excuse, reports claim.
