Buddhist Monks Attack Christian Church in Colombo

Protesters of Jathika Hela Urumaya party (JHU) including Buddhist monks attacked a Christian church over the death of two women at a religious event.

Protesters stoned and throw petrol bombs at the church. The Pastor of the church said to media that protestor had threat to kill him if he is not shutting down the church.

An investigation is under way regarding the attack, Police Spokesperson Nimal Mediwaka said. no estimates of property damage could be given yet, he added.

Two women died last weekend while participating a religious event organized by the attacked church.
