Sri Lankan Filmmaker Sanjeewa Pushpakumara Bags Best Director Award at IFF
(NIDAHASA News) Sri Lankan filmmaker Sanjeewa Pushpakumara has awarded best director in the ‘New Territories’ competition section of the International Film Festival (IFF) Kinoforum in Russia.
Pushpakumara's directorial debut Igillena Maluwo (Flying Fish) said to be based on his personal experience of Sri Lanka's three decade long civil war.
Flying Fish produced and directed by Sanjeewa Pushpakumara; written by Pushpakumara and Chinthana Dharmadasa; director of photography, Viswajith Karunarathna; edited by Ajith Ramanayake; music by Tharindu Priyankara De Silva; production design and costumes by Bimala Dushmantha; released by Asia Digital Entertainment and Sapushpa Expressions.
The stellar cast in the film are Chaminda Sampath Jayaweera, Rathnayaka Marasinghe, Siththi Mariyam, Sanjeewa Dissanayake, Sumathy Sivamohan and Kaushalya Fernando.
A postgraduate of Kelaniya University and diploma holder in Cinematography, Sanjeewa, mastered his cinema in Korea.
